50+ Audio Frequency charts. A-Z.

Frequency charts, love em or leave em. They are a part of the community that is important to many enthusiasts and companies.

Whether its just the fun of rambling into an audio shop or messing about at home with a potato test rig set up or getting jiggy with the big boys like head-fis multi money banging set up - fun can be had for everyone with similar or with varying results.

And varying results can occur between rigs either by set ups, usage, level of expertise or quality of the rig. Also headphones tend to be more consistent than IEMs - although DD earphones seem more reliant than BAs which seem to possess a natural slight variance. Also taking to account QC and human error one has a recipe for all sorts of happenings, but it does seem that across thr board most get it right and all in all the majority of individuals tests results seem to match each others by and by.

Of course on the other side once these earphones get ito peoples grubby hands and out of the tester tube the ear shape, canals, fit, depth of insertion, tips chosen, cable swaps, mods, EQ applied, daps used with whatever output impedance all go towards skewing the initial frequency chart or tuners intent as we might call it.

The just use your ears crowd has its own variances and own angles depending on some of the same things i listed above as well as time of day, listening environment, music used, musical training and experience etc etc

Often people adhere to one or the other it can seem these days, some have feet in both camps. The pendulum swing seems to go here and there over time.

I myself am too lazy generally to do tests (plus i have little spare time these days), hell these days there is more than enough enthusiasts and companies doing it already these days. Thank you all. Many do rely on freq charts for pre purchasing information gathering - it can be hard to decide what to buy as reviewers have their own tastes, sometimes in agreement or varying reviews/opinions (gotta read a few to get the gist) or often one does not live close to a store to try in person.
Kudos to those who do take the time, everyone finds their own fun.

Whether one has an objective or subjective approach or something in between - it all meets in the middle eventually…

Music.

Although the left brain/right brain model has been largely jettisoned in academia in favor of a more holistic type and interconnected approach these days it can still be used to illustrate certain dualistic dichotomies.

‘Polish-American scientist and philosopher Alfred Korzybski remarked that "the map is not the territory" and that "the word is not the thing", encapsulating his view that an abstraction derived from something, or a reaction to it, is not the thing itself. ‘

‘The menu is not the meal’ - Alan Watts

Anyways, enough verbiage.

On with the show!
